Tonight we have eight games on the NHL schedule with some excellent matchups with huge playoff implications. The Penguins face the Islanders and sit just two points back of third in the Metropolitan Division. The Red Wings and Flyers go head to head as they battle for a wild card position in the Western Conference.
Out West, the Kings made a statement last night crushing the Blackhawks 5-0 and on back to back nights get an equally important matchup vs. the Stars who lead the way in the conference with 91 points.
There are three teams(LA, FLA, NYI) playing on back to back nights and all on the road. At this time only James Reimer of the Sharks is confirmed starting so be sure to check LeftWingLock prior to lineup lock at 7:00 pm et.

NHL DFS Picks for Tuesday, March 15th
A couple strategy notes. For cash game construction look for players who can contribute to your score when they are not providing offense. Examples are guys who take a ton of shots, defensemen who block a lot of shots(DraftKings). Also, look for guys who get powerplay time and especially Top 6 forwards. You can find value in players who join a new line due to an injury or just get a promotion and more ice time.
For large field tournaments (GPP's) you want to find payers who have multi point upside and can grab double digit fantasy points. To stack the most upside in your forwards a common strategy is to punt the defense position. This doesn't mean just grab anyone. Try and look for a D man who will be playing more PP time or might get a boost in overall playing time due to an injury.
Let's take a look at some solid plays for today's action.
Marc-Andre Fleury - Goaltender, Penguins (Draftkings - $8,300 FanDuel - $9,600)
Huge matchup for the Penguins at home tonight as they only trail the Islanders by two points in the Metropolitan Division. They also hold a small lead on Detroit and Philadelphia in the Wild Card. Fleury is coming off back to wins on the road vs. the Blue Jackets and Rangers and has won six of his last nine starts. He lacks upside for tournaments as the Pens have only given up 30 shots twice in his last nine starts, but makes a great cash game play.
Steven Stamkos - Center, Lightning (DraftKings - $7,100 FanDuel - $8,300)
He broke out of a slump on Sunday with a couple goals and an assist in a big win vs. Columbus. He's has an up and down season which has kept his price reasonable but provides huge scoring upside with somewhat lower ownership due to the inconsistency. Perfect for GPP tournaments.
Jamie Benn - Winger, Stars (DraftKings - $8,000 FanDuel - $8,200)
There was a time on FanDuel back in December where his salary was pushing $11,000. His slump in the new year has brought that salary back down to earth making him and the Stars terrific values heading down the stretch. He appears to be back on track with back to back multi point games and points in four straight games.
Mark Stone - Winger, Senators (DraftKings - $5,700 FanDuel - $6,500)
The Winnipeg, Manitoba native has been red hot for the Senators since mid February with points in nine of his last 10 games. In his fourth NHL season he looks to again break the 60 point barrier as he did last year and has proven his value in Ottawa. The Sens second line will again be a nice mid range line stack in a home matchup vs. the Wild who are quickly fading in the Western Conference.
Brent Burns - Defense, Sharks (DraftKings - $8,300 FanDuel - $8,100)
His recent play has pushed his price back up on FanDuel which is an opening for lower ownership. He has been red hot lately with 12 points in his lat 10 games including four multi points efforts. He always provides a high floor as he averages over 3.5 shots on goal per game and has been a +8 in the last 10 games.
