Brian Dozier was never much of a home run hitter in the minor leagues, but found his power stroke in his first full year in the big leagues in 2013. Since then, he has smashed 69 home runs to go along with 47 stolen bases. The Minnesota Twins' second baseman can be counted on for a 25 HR/15 SB season, but his averages are a bit concerning. Over the last three seasons, he has hit .244, .242 and .236. Of the 25 second basemen projected by Fangraphs to see at least 400 at-bats, only Jace Peterson (.240) is projected a lower batting average than Dozier (.241). Granted, Dozier is also the only second baseman projected at least 20 HR and 10 SB. His counting stats will keep him towards the top of second baseman rankings, but his low averages will likely prevent him from surpassing guys like Jose Altuve, Robinson Cano and Dee Gordon. Expect the soon-to-be 29-year-old to come off the board in the late sixth or early seventh round.
