The wide receiver position is always interesting to forecast who will deliver the best performance on any given week. Julio Jones and Antonio Brown are the most consistent sources but just about every other wide receiver can be a hit or miss depending on the schedule. Two specific receivers that are borderline WR1 plays most weeks will become must-starts in Week 11.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers star wide receiver Mike Evans will have the table set up for a big game against the Philadelphia Eagles. Evans is averaging 122 yards on thirteen targets per game over the last four weeks. The matchup will pit him against a bottom three defense at defending the wide receiver. Evans is getting all the targets from quarterback Jameis Winston and will have plenty of chances to make a big play. The Eagles struggle against the deep pass and Evans is one of the best in the league at scoring the long touchdown. One play could turn his day into a big success and he’ll likely be in a position to put up big points.
Calvin Johnson is another stud wide receiver that has been inconsistent this season but should be primed for a big performance against the Oakland Raiders on Sunday. The Raiders have been decimated through the air lately and Johnson is by far the best option on the Detroit Lions offense. Johnson is starting to become more consistent as he has put up at least eighty yards in each of his last four games. The problem has been his lack of touchdowns, but given his talent and role in the lineup he is due for positive regression in that aspect. Oakland has given up 100+ receiving yards to four wide receivers in nine games and Johnson should be able to become the fifth.
Between great matchups and recent momentum, Mike Evans and Calvin Johnson can each be trusted as your top wide receiver in daily fantasy lineups this week. Both men are cheaper than Julio Jones or DeAndre Hopkins but have just as much upside with better matchups.
