Harvey (Triceps) Says He's 'Good To Go' For A Game 5

Matt Harvey told reporters that he’s “good to go” for a potential NLCS Game 5 on Thursday.

The New York Mets start had a great outing on Saturday to give his team a 1-0 lead in the series. The Mets followed that with a 4-2 victory on Sunday. If the Chicago Cubs are able to take at least one of the next two games, there’s a chance that Harvey will be on the mound again for Game 5.

Mets manager Terry Collins expressed some concern over Harvey’s availability due to an innings limit the team placed upon him for his first season removed from Tommy John surgery and a nagging triceps issue. Jacob deGrom will start Game 3 while Steven Matz will take the ball for Game 4. If somehow Harvey’s start was to be skipped, Noah Syndergaard would likely pitch instead.

Harvey delivered nine strikeouts of two-run ball over 7 2/3 innings pitched in Game 1. The right-hander showed that he could be counted on if the Mets think he’s healthy enough.
