Ronnie Hillman wants to be the Denver Broncos No. 1 running back and he's going about it the right way. After Sunday's game against the Cleveland Browns, Hillman kissed up to quarterback Peyton Manning by defending the future hall of fame QB with the media.
"We're here to rally behind him," running back Ronnie Hillman said, according to ESPN. "Peyton is our leader, our quarterback. People can say whatever they want. They don't know. And this offense is right there. It's going to get going, and then people can ask about something else."
Hillman had 20 carries for 111 yards against the Browns in Week 6. Meanwhile, C.J. Anderson had just 13 carries for 41 yards. The Broncos are currently going with the hot hand, but it looks like Hillman is becoming the team's lead back. Kissing up to Manning will only help his cause.
