Buffalo Bills running back LeSean McCoy hinted on Instagram at his possible return on Sunday. He has been dealing with a hamstring injury since August, and has not played since Week 3. Head Coach Rex Ryan has said that he is "cautiously optimistic" about McCoy's return in Week 6 against the 5-0 Cincinnati Bengals. Ryan is usually more enthusiastic about the return of injured players, so it's hard to make an accurate projection based off of his statements.
McCoy had been limited in practice on Wednesday and Thursday. McCoy has stated that he would not return if he was not 100 percent. If McCoy were to return, he would be taking over after Anthony "Boobie" Dixon and Daniel "Boom" Herron combined for only 47 rush yards last week. Dixon and Herron are currently the only healthy running backs for the Bills. Karlos Williams is still out with a concussion, and has not been seen in practice.
It is hard to believe that McCoy is already back to 100%, so it's difficult to trust that he'll be active on Sunday. However, even cautious optimism is more than anyone in the Bills organization has showed in several weeks, so a return can not be ruled out.
