Atlanta Falcons rookie running back Tevin Coleman spent a lot of time on the bench in his return to action on Sunday against the Washington Redskins. Although he started the 2015 season as the team's starter, it was clear that Devonta Freeman has taken his job away. Coleman played just nine snaps in Week 5.
Coleman should see more playing time going forward, but the Falcons are going to leave Freeman ride his current hot streak. Freeman has been the best fantasy football running back in the league the past three weeks and he has propelled the Falcons to an undefeated record through five games.
Coleman's playing time was also likely limited due to the injury that kept him out of action for a few weeks. There's no way his broken ribs are fully healed. And as long as Freeman is playing so well, the team has no reason to put the rookie through unnecessary pain.
Coleman is still worth holding onto in fantasy football leagues, but keep him on your bench until further notice.
