Several unnamed players for the Cleveland Browns have told TMZ that they want the team to start quarterback Johnny Manziel over Josh McCown for the rest of the season. The report quoted three anonymous starters on offense.
"You can’t get better unless you play. We won when he played and coach has got to trust him like he trusts Josh," one anonymous player told TMZ.
Neither Manziel or McCown are worth consideration as a starting quarterback in your fantasy lineups. However, each quarterback does impact certain role players on the Browns differently. For example, Travis Benjamin seems to play better and is more of a threat to score with Manziel in the game. McCown, however, seems to favor possession receivers like Gary Barnidge.
But as a general rule of thumb for the rest of the season, play it safe and avoid starting any Browns players. Not even a prime Joe Montana would make much of a difference in Cleveland.
