Below are my FanDuel lineup picks for Saturday, August 29th. My goal with these DFS picks, as always, is to try to choose players who will outperform their expectations. These players can be high-cost players, or they can be sleepers, but we are always looking for players that have a chance to return the greatest value on FanDuel. Additionally, since the weekends generally have many afternoon and night games, I’ll make an effort to distribute my picks to cover all the time slots going forward so that if you are playing an afternoon/night only league this article will still be useful.
Daily fantasy baseball leagues (DFS) are becoming the thing to do, and here at RotoBaller we are excited to help our users build their bankrolls. I’ll be covering FanDuel lineup picks, sleepers and general advice every Saturday and Sunday. I’ll also be putting my money where my mouth is by entering my final lineup (at the bottom of the article) into one of FanDuel’s many daily fantasy contests, so that RotoBaller users can compete against me.
Editor’s Note: If you play on FanDuel, you should also check out RotoBaller’s DFS Partner DraftKings – they’re hosting a Fantasy Baseball league called MLB $250K Swing for the Fences. It’s FREE to enter and pays out $250,000 in cash prizes!

Last Saturday’s Review
Entry: $1
Winnings: $0
Saturdays For the Season: +$6.78
Pick Highlights: Three weeks in a row with no cash out. Sonny Gray was mediocre. I got nothing out of my offense once again. I just don't know where to go at this point.
Relationship Status: “We need to get outside help”
DFS Starting Pitchers To Consider for FanDuel
Jeff Samardzija (SP, CWS) - $8,600
Samardzija has certainly struggled this year (leads the league in hits and earned runs allowed), but I think he turns it around against the Seattle Mariners and their 24th ranked offense.
Mike Fiers (SP, HOU) - $8,500
A completely under the radar piece of the Carlos Gomez trade, all Fiers has done is provided stability to the Houston rotation. Fiers has thrown 26 innings now for the 'Stros and has a 2.42 ERA over that time with 25 Ks. He gets to pitch in pitcher's friendly Target Field today against Minnesota.
DFS Infielders To Consider for FanDuel
Jonathan Lucroy (C, MIL) - $3,200
The bat seems to be finally coming around for Lucroy who went deep twice in a game earlier this week. Remember, he was the top fantasy catching option a mere year ago.
Paul Goldschmidt (1B, ARI) - $4,600
Tough to not pick Goldy today going against a lefty at home. He has a sick 1.098 OPS against lefties this season and a 1.080 OPS in home games.
DFS Outfielders To Consider for FanDuel
Jacoby Ellsbury and Brett Gardner (OF, NYY) - $3,300 and $3,000
The hate has gone too far on these guys. Two very good players facing a rookie pitcher in Matt Wisler. I think they set the table for the Yanks all day.
Khris Davis (OF, MIL) - $3,500
The other Chris Davis in Baltimore has gotten all the pub lately, but this one has 10 homers in August.
FanDuel Sleeper Value of the Day
Eugenio Suarez (SS, CIN) - $2,800
Four homers and an .800+ OPS in August from the shortstop position. At this price you have to take that every day.
My DFS Lineup on FanDuel
Today I’ll be playing in $8K MLB Sac Bunt game. Remember to check your lineups throughout the day. You never want to get a goose egg for a guy that didn’t play.
