Indianapolis Colts (DEF, IND) - 2015 Fantasy Football Sleeper

BALLER MOVE: Target in Late Rounds

Current ADP: 209 STD

ANALYSIS: The Colts have a weak schedule in terms of rushing offenses, especially since the Texans lost Arian Foster to a groin injury.

Indianapolis was right around the league average in rushing yards allowed with 1,814 yards, and opposing offenses were able to gain 4.3 yards per rush while scoring 14 rushing TD in 2014.

The Colts' defensive line of DE Kendall Langford, NT Josh Chapman, and DE Arthur Jones is a bit shaky, but linebacker Robert Mathis, their best pass rusher, will return around midseason from an Achilles injury that ended his season early, so the entire defense, especially the front seven, will benefit from his return.

Bjoern Werner is a young guy who can still improve, as this is only his third year in the NFL. D’Qwell Jackson was very effective in run protection in the second half of 2014, Jerrell Freeman is solid in pass coverage and Trent Cole will boost the linebacking corps with his above-average pass rushing and solid run-stopping abilities.

The Colts were ninth in the league with 41 sacks and allowed the 12th fewest passing yards last season. They only had 12 INT, but look for that number to increase this season. Vontae Davis has developed into one of the league’s best cornerbacks, not allowing a single touchdown catch against him in 2014.

The Colts should be able to get after the QB and force some mistakes. They’re not a shutdown defense, but they can rack up points on any given week. If their offense can score early and often in games, opposing teams will be forced to pass more, which will bode well for the Colts' defense.
