Worth the Investment
Damian Lillard (POR, PG) - $9,000
Portland’s point guard has already been playing at a high level for most of the season but he’ll need to pick up the pace even more now with the injury to LaMarcus Aldridge. The Wizards have a tendency to give up big games to opposing PGs. Lillard versus John Wall should be a fun one to watch and both players make solid plays for Saturday.
Zach Randolph (MEM, PF) - $8,500
The Sixers have been playing slightly better over the last three weeks so cross your fingers that there is no blowout in this game. Z-Bo should be able to flex his muscle against a young and improving Nerlens Noel in both scoring and rebounding.
Marcin Gortat (WAS, C) - $5,900
There’ll be no LMA, Robin Lopez, Joel Freeland and perhaps no Chris Kaman to go up against the Polish Hammer. Due to all those injured in front of him, Meyers Leonard is looking like the probable starter at the center position against the Wizards for a Trail Blazers team that is already giving up 51.2 FDPPG (fourth highest) to opposing centers over their last ten games.
Robert Covington (PHI, SF) - $5,600
Philadelphia’s swingman has been taking advantage of the solid minutes he has been given and there’s reason to think that streak can’t continue Saturday night. As for individual splits, Covington’s most productive night of the week is Saturday (16.5 PPG, 4.5 RPG, 0.6 APG) and he is at his best when playing on zero days of rest (30.0 MPG, 18.3 PPG, 5.0 RPG, 0.6 APG).
Top Sleepers
Tony Allen (MEM, SG) - $4,200
Allen is always capable of recording multiple steals in a game especially against a team that is averaging 18.5 turnovers per game. What is most intriguing about Allen is that it has been three games since he has scored double digits and for whatever reason his scoring streaks come in threes. Philadelphia does have a tendency to give up a lot of scoring opportunities to opposing two guards. The Grindfather is a great value play for Saturday night at a position that is otherwise unspectacular for matchups across the league.
Dante Exum (UTA, PG) - $3,600
If you overload at every other position but PG, Exum is your guy at the one guard spot. Trey Burke was recently benched and the rookie stepped up with 15 points and 5 assists against the Bucks on Thursday. The Jazz will face off against the Nets which is always a juicy matchup for any starting point guard given that Deron Williams will continue to be out.
