BALLER MOVE: Add in Deeper Leagues and NL Only Leagues
ANALYSIS: It’s probably a good time to start paying attention to the fact that Rickie Weeks no longer starts at second base for the Brewers. In fact, since last third of the 2013 season, Scooter Gennett has done a very respectable job taking over his new job in Milwaukee. He did so by hitting .324 with a .834 OPS in 213 AB (69 games) last season, and by capitalizing on the playing time he’s gotten (unlike the senior of the two beleaguered Weeks) thus far in 2014: raking for a .313 batting average, 1 HR, 8 RBI, 6 Runs and even 3 Steals for good measure. If it wasn’t for the fact that he still loses most at bats to left handed pitching, then he would be a must add in all leagues. If you need some upside help at MI or even an injury stop gap at 2B, then Scooter is your guy for sure.
