NBA Fantasy Shopper: DFS Lineup Picks for DraftStreet 3/4

Just a quick heads up: tonight might be a good time to go with the stars and scrubs lineup.  Miami (Houston), Oklahoma City (Philadelphia), Los Angeles Clippers (Phoenix), Phoenix (Clippers), and New Orleans (Lakers) have amazing matchups.  Because of those matchups, nearly every player in the top 15 is a great play tonight, and therefore I am going to highlight a group of moderate-to-low-priced guys to help plug and play with tonight’s studs.

rotoballer-fantasy-basketball-advice-tony-wrotenPG: Tony Wroten ($9,507): Since the trade deadline, Wroten has seen an average of 27 minutes a game and is putting up a solid 16.3 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.0 assists a game.  He has six straight games of scoring in double digits, including two games of 19 and one game at 21.  Wroten also has had a steal in five of the last six games, while tossing in some respectable rebounding.  In those games he is getting just short of 13 shots a game, which bodes very well for his future fantasy value.   The other good news is that Wroten gets minutes regardless of the score, which is great for tonight as the Thunder are likely to hand the Sixers a beating of massive proportions.

SG: MarShon Brooks ($7,700): Along with Kent Bazemore, no one is happier to be on a new team than MarShon Brooks.  He was a complete afterthought in Boston, but has scored in double figures in four of his past six games.  Last night, he only put in 8 points, but he added 7 rebounds and 2 steals in 25 minutes of action.  Brooks has only been over 19 minutes in every game with the Lakers so far, meaning it will only take one game to hit hot for him to blow his value out of the water.  Brooks is another cheap play that will get you solid points to go along with your studs tonight.

SF: Caron Butler ($8,865): You will need to watch the report from Thunder camp today to hear the final word on Butler, but all indications are that he will be in uniform and starting for tonight’s game.  The veteran swing man should be rejuvenated coming from the lowly Bucks to the Western Conference favorites in Oklahoma City.  Butler has been a bit erratic this season, but he has produced some monster fantasy nights.  In his last two games with the Bucks he put up a combined 38 points and 11 rebounds.  Assuming he plays tonight it may be a good chance to get extended run with his new team in what should be a massive blowout.

PF: Alexis Ajinca ($7,950): Ajinca received a start last Friday against the Suns and although he did not put up big numbers, did enough to get another start on Saturday.  In that game he put up a double-double against the Clippers in 29 minutes.  Those 29 minutes were the most he had received in nearly a month and should help him get more playing time going forward.  Along with the double-double, he had a steal and 2 blocks which help boost his fantasy value.  Ajinca only had 4 points and 6 rebounds last night against the Kings, but played the most of any center on the team.  For a low price you could do worse.

C: Tiago Splitter ($9,006): Since missing four games in mid-February, Splitter has provided a solid stat line from the center position.  He has scored in double figures in three of five games while pulling down 23 rebounds in those games.  Splitter’s production correlates nearly exactly to his playing time which should bode well tonight against a Cleveland team that is not strong defensively down low.  With Anderson Varejao likely out, Spencer Hawes will be trying to stop the Spurs big men.  Splitter will never wow you, but when you combine a very good field goal percentage with solid all-around stats, you quickly get a solid fantasy option for a minimal price.
