Nathan MacKinnon Scores Power-Play Goal In Victory
3 hours agoColorado Avalanche center Nathan MacKinnon found the back of the net on the power play during their 4-3 overtime victory over Team Sweden on Wednesday evening. MacKinnon opened the game's scoring as he beat Filip Gustavsson on a wrist shot in the first period. His fellow Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia, teammate Sidney Crosby tallied the primary assist, with Edmonton's Connor McDavid adding the secondary helper. MacKinnon also logged a team-high six shots in this game. The 29-year-old also logged three blocked shots and two shots on goal with a plus-two rating. MacKinnon should continue to see elite scoring opportunities in the tournament, playing alongside Crosby and Mark Stone. Before the tournament, MacKinnon tallied seven points over his last two games. He should be viewed as a top play in DFS formats on Saturday evening when he faces Team USA.
