Logan Webb 2025 Fantasy Baseball Outlook: Workhorse Provides Value In Volume-Based Stats
5 mins agoAfter finishing 2023 as the runner-up in the National League's Cy Young Award race, hopes were high for Logan Webb to deliver a big 2024. As it was, Webb was merely an above-average starter, returning 13 wins, 172 strikeouts, and a 3.47 ERA but also a 1.23 WHIP. A groundball pitcher who favors weak contact to chasing strikeouts, Webb induced a SwStr% of just 9.6% and 20.5% K% last year. Webb instead compiles his punchouts through sheer volume. Similarly, his durability allows him to stretch out starts and stay in the running to collect wins. He is one of just seven pitchers with double-digit wins in each of the last four years. Webb needs to get his changeup back to be his best self in 2025. In 2024, the pitch was knocked around significantly more than in years past including a 10.1% barrel rate allowed (up from 3.4% in 2023). At an ADP of 102.22, Webb lands in a cluster of SP2/3s, though his upside might not be as high as his cohorts. Still, he is a fine pickup for a team with an ace who can offset Webb's WHIP.
