Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts is one of the top passers in the NFL. Furthermore, he is a fantasy football superstar.
Hurts is the QB5 for the year, averaging 21 fantasy points per game. He has been outstanding despite the offseason addition of Saquon Barkley, totaling 18 passing touchdowns and 14 rushing scores.
Unfortunately, the superstar’s status for Week 17 and the rest of the season is up in the air. Is Hurts out for the season?

Is Jalen Hurts Out For The Season?
The veteran quarterback suffered a concussion last week in the loss to the Washington Commanders. Hurts left the game after completing one of his four pass attempts for 11 yards. However, he had three rushing attempts for 41 yards before suffering the concussion.

While Hurts isn’t out for the season, the superstar quarterback might not play in Week 17 against the Dallas Cowboys.
Will Jalen Hurts Play In Week 17?
Hurts didn’t practice on Wednesday or Thursday, giving him one more day to get on the field before the weekend’s matchup against the division rivals. Unfortunately, it seems like the Eagles don’t expect to have the superstar quarterback this week. They signed Ian Book to their practice squad, with Hurts and Kenny Pickett (ribs) dealing with injuries.

Hopefully, fantasy players claimed a second quarterback off the waiver wire earlier this week. However, there are a few appealing replacement options.
The ideal last-minute replacement option is Anthony Richardson. He has scored 20 or more fantasy points in three of his past five games, including last week in the win over the Tennessee Titans, despite having only 11 pass attempts. However, he is questionable to play Sunday because of back and foot injuries.
Another solid replacement option is Drake Maye. The rookie has scored 17.4 or more fantasy points in four of his past five games, including three consecutive contests. He faces a Los Angeles Chargers defense on Saturday that has given up 21 or more fantasy points to quarterbacks in back-to-back games.
