Las Vegas Raiders running back Sincere McCormick (ankle) looked like a legitimate starting option in a lot of fantasy football leagues heading into Week 15. Sadly, he injured his ankle during the game, and was pulled from the contest. His left ankle got trapped and bent at an awkward ankle under a player that was involved in tackling him.
And just like that, one of 2024's players seen as a possible league-winner had his season cut short. Now, fantasy managers who started him or used a bench spot on him and survived another week will need to look to waivers and free agency to find a replacement, at least initially.
But is he out for the rest of the year?

Is Sincere McCormick Out For The Season?
Yes, it's sincerely over for McCormick this season, unfortunately. Our source for this information is McCormick himself, who announced on Instagram that he will return next season. It's an unfortunate end to what could have been a great late-season run with big fantasy football playoff implications.

Even if this injury holds him out a few weeks, we're heading into Week 16. Technically, even if he could return in Week 18, it wouldn't make much sense. Las Vegas has been eliminated from playoff contention for a while now, and there isn't much left to play through serious injuries for.
Fantasy managers may be wondering if fellow Raiders RBs Ameer Abdullah or Alexander Mattison are worth picking up off the waiver wire. The short answer is that Abdullah is the better option in all formats, and has a solid matchup in Week 16, making him an interesting starting option in deeper leagues or for those rosters dealing with a ton of injuries.
If you want to read a full breakdown of that situation, check out this article on that exact topic. The Raiders' running back situation will be very murky heading into 2025, but if they draft North Carolina Tar Heels running back Omarion Hampton, make sure to pick him up in all leagues, because we believe he's an incredible talent and could be a league-winner.
