Joey Logano Will Be One To Watch At Martinsville
1 month agoFor Sunday's Xfinity 500 at Martinsville Speedway, Joey Logano obtained a starting position of 12th after qualifying, marking the fifth time he will start outside of the top 10 at the site since 2022. In 31 starts at Martinsville, Logano has one win, 19 top-10 finishes, and 1,207 laps led (third-most of active drivers). The No. 22 Ford driver also placed in the Top 10 in each of the last 10 Cup events at the Virginia track, which is the longest active streak of all drivers. Through 34 races this season, Logano has three wins, 11 top-10 finishes, and an average finish of 17.8. At short tracks this year, Logano has three top-10 finishes and led at least once in three different events. In practice, Logano ranked 21st in overall lap averages while ranking as high as 10th in the 25 and 30 consecutive lap average categories. Although Logano does not have much to race for since he is locked into the championship race at Phoenix, Logano's fantastic history at Martinsville, practice speeds, and equipment make him one to watch for a top-10 finish.
