Kansas City Chiefs running back Isiah Pacheco was a popular second or third-round fantasy football draft pick this year. The former Rutgers star has been outstanding since taking over as the starting running back in Kansas City.
Pacheco has averaged 67.5 rushing yards and 14.2 half-point PPR fantasy points per game this season, totaling 13.6 or more in both contests. Unfortunately, the third-year running back suffered a broken fibula in the win over the Cincinnati Bengals.
When will Pacheco return to the lineup? Will he play again this season? Let’s take a look.

When Is Isiah Pacheco Coming Back?
Reportedly, the Chiefs had concerns that Pacheco wouldn’t play again in 2024 after getting hurt against the Bengals. However, the third-year pro is back to running and has looked good in social media workout videos. Kansas City hasn’t opened the three-week practice window for Pacheco. Yet, that should come over the next few weeks.

Fantasy players should expect Pacheco back in the lineup in a few weeks, potentially as early as the Week 11 matchup against the Buffalo Bills. However, he will likely be a snap count in his first game or two off of the broken fibula.
Isiah Pacheco Fantasy Football Outlook
The Chiefs have used several running backs since Pacheco suffered the injury. While Carson Steele and Samaje Perine didn’t work out, Kareem Hunt has been productive. The veteran running back has averaged one rushing touchdown and 15.5 fantasy points per game in four contests this year, scoring 12.8 or more in three consecutive matchups.

Fantasy players shouldn’t be on Hunt disappearing once Pacheco is healthy. The former Toledo star has played well enough to have a role on offense even when the starting running back returns. However, Pacheco should be the lead guy in the backfield once he shakes off any rust coming off the injury.
