It's been a slow start to the season for DeAndre Hopkins, as he has just 17 receptions for 202 yards and one touchdown on the season. At age 32, many assumed his best days were behind him, but D-Hop's career was thrown a lifeline when he was traded to the Kansas City Chiefs.
First off, they’ve lost some serious firepower--running back Isiah Pacheco and receivers Marquise Brown and Rashee Rice are out, leaving Mahomes with a pretty thinned-out arsenal. And yeah, Travis Kelce is still one of the greats, but you can see Father Time starting to catch up with him just a bit.
Should fantasy managers drop Hopkins ahead of Week 9? Let's dive in and find out the best strategy moving forward!

Should I Drop DeAndre Hopkins in Fantasy Football?
DeAndre Hopkins in Kansas City feels like it should be fireworks, and let’s be real--you can’t cut him. Not with that talent and potential in an offense led by Patrick Mahomes. The chemistry might be taking a minute to click, and the Chiefs’ play calling has been more conservative than we’re used to seeing this year.
But here’s the thing: Hopkins still has the skill set to be a game-changer, and better days are coming. Mahomes will start looking his way more, especially as they get into tougher matchups and need a reliable, big-play guy. Stick with him, keep him on your roster, and trust that those breakout games are just around the corner.

Who Should I Pickup in Week 9 Fantasy Football?
You can't drop Hopkins in fantasy, you just can't. But if you want to make other plans in the meantime until the offense cranks the volume back up, that's an understandable take.

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Cedric Tillman (rostered in just 18% of leagues) is a solid pickup at wide receiver. The Browns have made a switch at quarterback to Jameis Winston and veteran Amari Cooper was traded to Buffalo, which opens up things for their other WRs.
The second-year player out of Tennessee has 21 targets over the last two weeks, good for 15 receptions for 180 yards and two touchdowns.
