1 month agoRyan Blaney of Team Penske will start Sunday's Straight Talk Wireless 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway from the 20th position, the lowest starting position of his Cup career to date at the site. In nine races at Homestead, Blaney has two top-10 finishes, highlighted by a runner-up finish in last year's race at the Florida track. In 33 races so far this season, Blaney has two wins, 15 top-10 finishes, and an average finish of 16.5. At 1.5-mile Intermediate tracks this year, Blaney has two top-5 finishes and nabbed positive Place Differential four times at the track type. In practice, Blaney ranked fifth in overall lap averages and ranked among the top 10 fastest drivers in almost all categories on speed.
