Jacksonville Jaguars running back Travis Etienne Jr. has struggled this season after having high expectations. Through 6 weeks of play, Etienne has totaled just 230 yards and two touchdowns.

Unfortunately, the running back suffered a hamstring injury, which kept him sidelined for Week 7 against the Patriots.

When will Travis Etienne Jr. return to action, and what is his fantasy football outlook when he does? Let's dive in.

Travis Etienne Jr. Injury Update

Etienne (hamstring) was officially listed as inactive for Week 7 as the Jacksonville Jaguars beat the New England Patriots in London.

It appears that Etienne is in jeopardy of missing another week as he continues to recover from his hamstring injury. Despite the Jaguars preparing to face the Green Bay Packers this week, the team has prioritized Etienne’s health, opting to let him heal fully rather than rushing him back into action, which leaves him questionable for Week 8.

Fantasy owners will need to keep a close eye out for Etienne's practice status throughout the week. The running back did have limited practices throughout last week, but still was unable to play.

Travis Etienne Jr. Fantasy Football Outlook

If Etienne is unable to play in Week 8, Tank Bigsby is expected to handle a larger share of the carries, with D’Ernest Johnson also playing a role in the offense.

Fantasy managers should be cautious and consider alternatives for their lineups, as Etienne’s status remains uncertain heading into the matchup against the Packers. Etienne has also shown serious struggles this season and has only found success in the receiving game.

When Etienne Jr. returns from his hamstring injury, he is likely to be viewed as a low-end RB2 in fantasy football. While he has shown flashes of his potential as a dynamic playmaker, the time he misses could impact his initial workload and effectiveness upon his return.

As he eases back into the offense, he may share touches with other running backs like Bigsby and Johnson, which could limit his opportunities.

However, if he can regain his form and the Jaguars' offense hits its stride, Etienne has the ability to provide solid production and become a more reliable option as the season progresses.

Fantasy managers should monitor his performance closely, as he could quickly exceed expectations if given a consistent role in the offense.
