The late-night DraftKings slates are going to look a little different this year and not always in a good way. Many West Coast teams are playing in different time zones. Even though the Big 12 (14) has made a conscious effort to take over the "after-dark" football games, there are going to be some slow weeks. This is one of them.
Again, DraftKings could solve this problem by leaving the 9 p.m. Eastern games in here, but no. They have to cut the slate down to two games. We still have a couple of good ones with New Mexico State in Fresno and San Diego State visiting Cal. I'm not going to complain too much.
In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy college football lineup picks for DraftKings on 9/14/24, locking at 10:30 p.m. EDT. I’ll provide multiple player suggestions for players at quarterback, running back, and wide receiver, aiming to highlight one option at the high, middle, and lower end of the salary scale. Good luck, RotoBallers.

DraftKings CFB DFS Picks - Quarterbacks
Mikey Keene, Fresno State ($8K)
Keene still had a solid game against Michigan. He blew up (predictably) against Sacramento State. This New Mexico State team might not be a lot better than SSU. Expect another big game out of Keene.
Fernando Mendoza, California ($7.7K)
This could be one of those slates where we only use one quarterback. For all of San Diego State's faults on offense, their defense is still an impressive unit. Mendoza is still capable of a good game here, but I don't think there's a lot of upside in this one.
Still, he's better than Danny O'Neil and Parker Awad. Both of them have trouble completing half of their passes.
Also consider: Parker Awad, New Mexico State ($5.8K)

DraftKings CFB DFS Picks - Running Backs
Marquez Cooper, San Diego State ($7.5K)

Cooper is the focal point of a bad offense. He is the only guy that is guaranteed touches in this offense. Cooper will struggle at times because there isn't much of a passing game to take the heat off of him. However, the volume is enough on this slate to roll with him.
Malik Sherrod, Fresno State ($5.8K)
Sherrod is a solid runner, but his work in the passing game is what makes him pop in DFS circles. He has five receptions already. He probably won't be as good as he was against Sacramento State or as bad as he was against Michigan. Somewhere in between will pay off the price well enough.
Seth McGowan, New Mexico State ($3.8K)
You can afford whoever else you want with McGowan in your lineups. He has 26 carries and three receptions through two games. This price is way too low for the amount of touches he gets. This is a fairly tough matchup, but not that tough.
Also consider: Jaydn Ott, California ($9.5K); Jaivian Thomas, California (5K); Monte Watkins, Fresno State ($4.5K)
DraftKings CFB DFS Picks - Wide Receivers
Jalen Moss, Fresno State ($5.8K)
Moss is the must-play receiver on this slate. He has 12 receptions in two games. He even has a carry and a return touchdown. He is doing everything for Fresno. Moss has a high floor, but a serious enough upside for GPP usage as well.
Mac Dalena, Fresno State ($5.4K)
Dalena had a monster game against Sacramento State with 235 receiving yards. Moss is still the alpha receiver and will return to that role in this game. Dalena still has good upside playing across from Moss. There are plenty of passes to go around.
Ja'Shaun Poke, San Diego State ($5.2K)
Poke is third on the Aztecs in yards, but he still leads the team in targets. That's what I'm chasing. I expect San Diego State to move the ball a little better against Cal than they did against the Beavers. If that's true, Poke should have the best upside for the Aztecs.
Also consider: Nyziah Hunter, California ($5K); Louis Brown IV, San Diego State ($5K)
DraftKings CFB Stacks
Fresno State
There is enough value to use all of the pieces of the Fresno offense. I like Moss and Dalena with Sherrod. Keene is plenty affordable too, so we may as well use him. Fresno is one of the easier stacks we've had in a while so we may as well take advantage of it.
Also consider: Cal, New Mexico State
