BALLER MOVE: Add in Deeper Leagues (14+ Teams)
ROSTERED IN: 6% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: Though Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Joshua Palmer had a down game to start the season, recording just two catches for 15 yards against the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday, Palmer could still emerge as the Chargers' target leader in 2024. He has chemistry with QB Justin Herbert and had solid games in 2023 before his injury.

Despite this, Palmer is best left on waivers in deeper leagues due to the Chargers' offensive philosophy. Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh has always employed a run-first mentality. That was on display Sunday. Herbert only threw for 144 yards on 26 attempts. The Chargers attempted more rushes than passes, with 27 rush attempts.
Negative game scripts like this (close games or blowout wins) could cap Palmer's ceiling as the Chargers offense will tend to stick to their ground-and-pound philosophy. That being said, the Raiders offense they played on Sunday was putrid, and in games that the Chargers' defense can't keep close, they'll be forced to pass more.
Herbert is a fantastic QB who has been held back by the Chargers' defense poor play the past two seasons, constantly being put in bad situations and forced to play hero ball. Herbert should be much less mistake-prone this season.
Add Palmer in deeper leagues, but leave him on waivers for leagues with 12 or fewer teams.
