UPDATE: Christian McCaffrey has been ruled out for Week 1 and will not play. Jordan Mason is now an RB2 and should be stashed/started if still available before lineups lock.
ANALYSIS: San Francisco 49ers running back Jordan Mason is worth stashing on your bench in all 12-team leagues.
Mason is currently listed as the No.2 running back in San Francisco due to Elijah Mitchell (hamstring) hitting the season-ending injured reserve list in August.
Star running back Christian McCaffrey was also battling a calf injury through most of training camp as well but was expected to suit up for the season opener on Monday evening.
Jordan Mason caps off the opening drive with a 4 yard TD ‼️

Mason got the starting nod in the season opener as McCaffrey was not deemed ready, and did not disappoint. Mason ran for 147 yards and a score on 28 carries. He also caught his lone target for five yards.
Seeing Mason have great success in a spot start is a telling sign for his fantasy value. Mason is now a must-add candidate in all formats as he should be a low-end RB1 if he continues to remain the starting RB in the Bay Area.
