Joey Logano Quietly Collects A Top-10 Finish At Darlington
3 months agoJoey Logano had a solid performance in Sunday night's Cookout Southern 500, ending the race in the eighth position. Starting from 23rd place, Logano methodically worked through the field right at the beginning of the first stage. After green flag pit stops concluded, Logano ended the first stage in 15th, falling short of gaining stage points. The second stage for Logano was similar to the first in that he quietly ran inside the Top 15 and made it through his pit stops without issues. The Team Penske driver ended the second stage in the 15th position, just like the first, and again failed to score stage points. In the final stage, Logano quietly ascended through the field as other drivers were having trouble or getting involved in crashes. After pitting for four tires on the final pit stop of the day, Logano made it up to eighth without much opposition and collected the 11th top-10 finish of his Cup career at Darlington, as well as his first at the site since September 2022. The Cup Series will next head to Atlanta, where Logano will be one of the favorites as he is a former winner at the site.
