Jack Leiter A Candidate To Start On Wednesday For Rangers
3 months agoTexas Rangers right-handed pitching prospect Jack Leiter is a candidate to start next Wednesday on the road against the Chicago White Sox. Leiter, the team's No. 4 prospect per MLB Pipeline, could rejoin Texas' starting rotation late in the season now that it looks increasingly unlikely the Rangers will make the postseason. The 24-year-old former second overall pick in 2021 from Vanderbilt looked overmatched in his first three MLB starts earlier this year, surrendering 19 runs (17 earned) on 18 hits (three homers) while walking six and striking out seven in 9 1/3 innings. Leiter has looked a lot better at Triple-A Round Rock lately, though, prompting the Rangers to consider giving him another shot in the big leagues. A matchup against the lowly White Sox doesn't get much better for fantasy streaming purposes. Leiter will need to show better command of his fastball to find success at the highest level.
