Brandon Nimmo Sitting Against A Southpaw
4 months agoNew York Mets outfielder Brandon Nimmo will head to the bench for Thursday's series finale at Coors Field against the hosting Colorado Rockies with left-hander Austin Gomber on the mound. With Nimmo getting a breather, Tyrone Taylor will make the start in left field for the Mets and will bat ninth against Gomber. Taylor has limited DFS upside out of the nine-hole for Thursday's slate of games, but the Coors Field factor is intriguing, as well as the fact that he's taken Gomber deep in his only career at-bat against him. Against lefties in 2024, Taylor has hit just .185 (15-for-81) with one of his six home runs and 21 strikeouts in 86 plate appearances. Nimmo has actually hit much better against southpaws this year, slashing .283/.362/.478, but with only four of his 16 long balls in 2024.
