Dodgers Don't Expect Freddie Freeman Back For Series Against Padres
4 months agoLos Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said that he doesn't anticipate first baseman Freddie Freeman returning off the family medical emergency list during the team's two-game series in San Diego this week against the division-rival Padres that concludes on Wednesday. Fantasy managers will want to check back later in the week to see if Freeman is back with the team for their weekend series against the Oakland Athletics. The 34-year-old went on the family emergency list on Saturday and could miss up to seven full days as he attends to much more important family issues. Cavan Biggio made the start again at first base in the series opener on Tuesday against San Diego and should continue to do so until Freeman returns. Freeman remains a must-start in all fantasy formats when active for the Blue, as he's slashing .288/.395/.493 with an .888 OPS, 16 homers, 67 RBI and 63 runs scored in 104 games in 2024.
