Ranger Suarez To Start On Monday
4 months agoPhiladelphia Phillies left-hander Ranger Suarez (back) is listed as the team's probable starter for Monday's series opener against the hosting Minnesota Twins. Suarez dealt with back tightness to close out the first half of the season and also skipped the All-Star game to rest up for the second half. The 28-year-old southpaw is now ready to go for his first turn through Phill's rotation on the road in a tough matchup. He's been a must-start in fantasy lineups all year, but he'll be a bit more risky next week because of his back injury and the fact that he's allowed 15 earned runs on 22 hits (three home runs) while walking seven and striking out 13 in 15 2/3 innings over his last three starts against the Marlins, Braves and A's. Even with the rough stretch to close out the first half, Suarez has a 10-4 record, 2.76 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 112 K's in 114 innings over his 19 starts in 2024.
