David Peterson Placed On Paternity List
5 months agoNew York Mets starting pitcher David Peterson was placed on the paternity list on Friday. Right-hander Eric Orze was called up from Triple-A Syracuse to take Peterson's place. There's no worry about Peterson missing any of his scheduled starts here as the lefty just pitched six innings of shutout ball on Thursday against the Washington Nationals on the front end of All-Star break weekend. It's actually a positive move for the Mets' bullpen being able to add Orze, who has only appeared in one major league game this season but has a 3.76 ERA in 38 innings in Triple-A Syracuse. Fantasy managers should expect Orze to be brought back to the minors after the All-Star break and Peterson will look to have a solid second half, albeit with the addition of his new dad powers.
