Bailey Ober Takes Loss Despite Quality Start
5 months agoMinnesota Twins starting pitcher Bailey Ober took the loss in Wednesday's 3-1 defeat at the hands of the White Sox despite recording a quality start. Ober went six innings, allowing three earned runs on four hits and one walk while striking out six batters. He allowed a two-run home run with two outs in the sixth inning to Luis Robert Jr., otherwise, his line would have looked even better. It was Ober's fifth consecutive quality start and ninth of the season, now 8-5 with a 4.14 ERA, 1.08 WHIP, and a 20.5% K-BB%. The 28-year-old's run of quality starts, while impressive, has come against inferior competition. His next start will come after the All-Star break against the Brewers or Phillies, either of which will be a much tougher test.
