Rhett Lowder Delivers Strong Outing In Double-A
5 months agoOn Tuesday, Cincinnati Reds starting pitching prospect Rhett Lowder threw five innings against the Biloxi Shuckers. He struck out six, allowing five hits and two runs. Since his promotion to Double-A, Lowder has mostly struggled. Through 48 1/3 innings, he's posted a 6.52 ERA, 1.58 WHIP, and 50:11 K:BB. He's shown flashes of success, but his overall numbers are bogged down by a few dreadful outings. Cincinnati's top prospect (per MLB.com) is expected to make his MLB debut this year. Hopefully, this start was the beginning of a hot streak that ultimately turns into a call-up.
