Rece Hinds Makes History With Three More Extra-Base Hits
5 months agoCincinnati Reds outfielder Rece Hinds has wasted no time making an impression in his first two big-league games, putting his power on display in Tuesday's 12-6 win over the Rockies. Hinds fell a single shy of the cycle, going 3-for-5 with a double, a triple, a solo home run, two RBI, and two strikeouts. The 23-year-old obliterated a seventh-inning Justin Lawrence offering, launching it halfway into the left-field upper deck. Hinds has five extra-base hits in his first two games in the big leagues, which is the most by a player since at least 1901. Hinds has shown power and speed throughout his minor-league career, but he was hitting just .216 with Triple-A Louisville before getting called up. He is certainly worth keeping an eye on, but fantasy managers may want to see more than two games before getting too excited.
