Rece Hinds Called Up, Making MLB Debut On Monday
5 months agoThe Cincinnati Reds recalled outfield prospect Rece Hinds and right-hander Yosver Zulueta from Triple-A Louisville on Monday and placed outfielder Stuart Fairchild (spine) on the 10-day injured list (retroactive to July 7) with a spine-disc injury in a corresponding move. The Reds also optioned right-hander Graham Ashcraft to Louisville and outrighted infielder/outfielder Levi Jordan to Louisville after he cleared waivers. Hinds, the team's No. 15 prospect per MLB Pipeline, will make big-league debut on Monday, playing right field and batting eighth against Colorado Rockies right-hander Ryan Feltner. The 23-year-old hit 13 home runs and had 12 steals for Louisville, but he also hit just .216/.290/.409 with a 38.4% strikeout rate in 77 games, so he's most likely a short-term option for the Reds with most of their outfield regulars banged up at the moment.
