Yordan Alvarez Held Out On Sunday
5 months agoHouston Astros outfielder/designated hitter Yordan Alvarez (knee) is not in the team's starting lineup for Sunday's series finale against the hosting Minnesota Twins. Alvarez was removed from Saturday's contest in Minnesota after being hit by a pitch in his right knee. The 27-year-old left-handed slugger didn't go for imaging, though, and was diagnosed with a right-knee contusion. It's not a serious injury, so he's likely just being held out on Sunday as a precaution. Fantasy managers should consider Alvarez to be day-to-day for now. With an off day coming on Monday, hopefully he'll be available to return to the starting lineup for Tuesday's series opener against the visiting Miami Marlins. Alvarez is a must-start in all fantasy leagues whenever he's active. Mauricio Dubon is in left field and batting sixth on Sunday, with catcher Yainer Diaz serving as the DH and batting cleanup against Twins rookie right-hander Simeon Woods Richardson.
