Jose Altuve Returns To Astros Lineup
5 months agoHouston Astros second baseman Jose Altuve (hand) is back at second base and in his customary leadoff spot on Sunday against the hosting Minnesota Twins and rookie right-hander Simeon Woods Richardson. Altuve was forced from the series opener on Friday night in Minnesota after being hit by a pitch in his left hand. Thankfully, X-rays came back negative for any fractures, and the 34-year-old All-Star was diagnosed with a left-hand contusion. He was held out of Saturday's lineup as a precaution but will return for the series finale on Sunday. Altuve has had an excellent bounce-back season to this point in 2024 after an injury-plagued 2023 campaign. He's currently slashing .310/.360/.466 with an .827 OPS, 13 homers, 40 RBI, 13 steals and 53 runs scored in 358 at-bats. Get him back in all fantasy lineups. Altuve has never faced Woods Richardson in his career.
