Jose Altuve Absent From Astros Lineup
5 months agoHouston Astros second baseman Jose Altuve (hand) is not in the starting lineup for Saturday's contest against the hosting Minnesota Twins after he was hit by a pitch on his left hand on Friday night. Altuve left the contest in the eighth inning after talking with a trainer, but thankfully X-rays on his hand came back negative, and he's dealing with a left-hand contusion. For now, consider the All-Star to be day-to-day. Move him to your fantasy bench and check back on Sunday to see if he's active. It's been an excellent bounce-back season for the 34-year-old veteran, who is hitting .310 (111-for-358) with 13 homers, 40 RBI, 13 stolen bases and 53 runs scored on the year. He's a no-doubt, must-start when he's on the field. Utility man Mauricio Dubon is making the start at second base on Saturday and will hit seventh for Houston against Twins right-hander Joe Ryan.
