Gleyber Torres Sitting Out On Saturday
5 months agoNew York Yankees second baseman Gleyber Torres (groin) is not in the team's starting lineup on Saturday against the visiting division-rival Boston Red Sox. Torres was forced to exit Friday night's contest early due to groin tightness and will expectedly sit out the very next day. The 27-year-old infielder didn't require any imaging after the injury, so it appears it's not a very serious ailment. Consider Torres day-to-day for now and check back on Sunday to see if he's back in the starting lineup. He's been in a funk offensively all year, so perhaps a little time off will help him. Torres is currently hitting .223/.297/.344 with eight home runs, 33 RBI and four stolen bases in 87 games for the Yanks. Oswaldo Cabrera will get the start at the keystone on Saturday and will bat in the eight-hole against Red Sox right-hander Josh Winckowski.
