Braves Call Up Eli White
5 months agoThe Atlanta Braves selected the contract of outfielder Eli White from Triple-A Gwinnett on Friday and optioned outfielder Forrest Wall to Gwinnett in a corresponding move. To make room on the 40-man roster, the team moved left-hander Ray Kerr (elbow) to the 60-day injured list. White had a 6-for-7 game with two doubles, two home runs and seven RBI down on the farm this week and is hitting .289 with seven home runs, and an .848 OPS in 54 games at Gwinnett. However, he's a .181 career hitter with nine home runs, 28 RBI and 17 stolen bases in parts of four major-league seasons with the Braves and Texas Rangers. White went 1-for-14 (.071) with two walks and seven strikeouts with Atlanta in 2023 and will be a reserve outfielder in the big leagues in 2024 for however long he sticks around.
