Angels Place Luis Rengifo On 10-Day Injured List
5 months agoThe Los Angeles Angels placed infielder Luis Rengifo (wrist) on the 10-day injured list (retroactive to July 4) with right-wrist inflammation on Friday and selected the contract of infielder Keston Hiura from the minors in a corresponding move. The Angels also moved right-hander Andrew Wantz (elbow) to the 60-day IL. Rengifo injured his wrist on Wednesday against the A's and will now be out through the All-Star break in mid-July. It's a tough break for an already bad Angels team, as Rengifo has been their best hitter on the season. Given how well the 27-year-old has played in 2024, he deserves to be held onto in most fantasy leagues. Hiura was once a top prospect for the Brewers but flamed out with Milwaukee with too much swing and miss in his game. However, the right-handed power-hitting infielder batted .270/.346/.536 with 18 homers in 68 games at the Triple-A level this year and may be worth a look in AL-only leagues.
