Brandon Nimmo Back In Starting Lineup
5 months agoNew York Mets outfielder Brandon Nimmo (head) is back in left field and hitting in the two-hole for the Mets on Wednesday as they take on the division-rival Washington Nationals and left-hander Mitchell Parker in D.C. Nimmo fell at his hotel room on Sunday night and suffered a laceration on his forehead, prompting the Mets to hold him out of Monday's series opener. He was also held out of the starting lineup on Tuesday before replacing the injured Harrison Bader (head) while going 2-for-4. It's no surprise, then, that the 31-year-old left-handed hitter is back in action for the third game of the series. Nimmo is hitting a respectable .262 (22-for-84) against left-handers on the year, but with only three of his 13 long balls. He's never faced Parker in his career.
