Brennen Davis To Miss Significant Time With Back Fracture
5 months agoChicago Cubs outfield prospect Brennen Davis (back) suffered a back fracture and is expected to miss a significant amount of time on the farm. The Cubs have no specific timetable for his return. Davis was moved to the seven-day injured list on Tuesday with Triple-A Iowa. It's bad news for the team's No. 22 prospect, per MLB Pipeline. In addition to the serious injury, the 24-year-old former second-rounder in 2018 has hit just .229 (24-for-105) with 10 home runs, 26 RBI and 25 runs scored in 36 games this year for Iowa. On the bright side, Davis has shown off his power stroke while displaying a good eye at the plate. The 6-foot-3, 210-pound right-handed hitter was on track to potentially make his major-league debut in 2024, but his back fracture probably makes that unlikely now.
