Drafted in 2021, New York Mets pitching prospect Christian Scott quickly moved through the organization's ranks, posting a low ERA and strong K:BB ratios along the way.
His success earned him a promotion to the big leagues earlier this season, recording five starts for the Mets in May.
The righty held his own for an MLB first-timer, but was sent back down to the minors to bide his time until it was his turn to return to the Mets' rotation once again. That time has come, so let's check in on him to see what he can offer fantasy managers.
Christian Scott Prospect Update for Fantasy Baseball
Since being sent back down, the former fifth-round draft pick has pitched 17 innings over four starts, allowing a total of four earned runs on 17 hits and six walks while striking out 19 batters, good for a 2.12 ERA, 1.35 WHIP, and an 18.6% K-BB%.

That puts his totals for the minor league season at a 2.76 ERA, 0.97 WHIP, and a 26.2% K-BB% (12:55 BB:K) over nine starts (42 1/3 IP). The 25-year-old has an impressive 240 strikeouts now over 191 2/3 IP and an MiLB career ERA of 3.19.
Christian Scott Outlook for Fantasy Baseball
During his brief stint with the Mets, the University of Florida product featured a four-seamer (52.0%), sweeper (18.9%), slider (18.7%), and a splitter (10.4%). Over five starts, Scott posted a 3.90 ERA (3.50 FIP, 4.15 xFIP), 1.08 WHIP, and a 17.0% K-BB% (25 K in 27 2/3 IP).
Carlos Mendoza says Christian Scott will start for the Mets on Wednesday vs. the Nationals

After optioning an ineffective Tylor Megill to Triple-A on Sunday, the Mets have decided it is time for Christian Scott to make his return to the bigs. He'll face the Washington Nationals in D.C. on Wednesday, a team that has lost six of its last seven games and just struck out 11 times to Taj Bradley in five-and-two-thirds innings this past Sunday. If he earns another start it would likely come against the Pirates next Monday in Pittsburgh.
On a Mets team that is showing signs of life lately, Scott should be able to limit damage and earn some W's for fantasy managers while posting some decent strikeout numbers along the way. He is available in almost 80% of Yahoo leagues for fantasy managers looking for some help from a pitcher who has a couple of favorable matchups coming up. He should already be rostered in deep leagues.
