Edward Cabrera Throws 67 Pitches In Third Rehab Start
5 days agoMiami Marlins starting pitcher Edward Cabrera (shoulder) made another Triple-A rehab start on Sunday, but he only went three innings and threw 67 pitches. Cabrera was scheduled to go five innings or 80 pitches for Jacksonville on Sunday in what was his third minor-league rehab start amid his recovery from a right shoulder impingement, so he came up a bit short on expectations in terms of the length of his outing. Fantasy managers should expect Cabrera to make one more appearance this weekend before he gets reinstated from the injured list sometime next week if all goes well, with the earliest his activation can come arriving on July 7. The hard-throwing 26-year-old right-hander is a stash candidate for fantasy managers in deep mixed or NL-only leagues for his bat-missing stuff, but a lack of control has always plagued Cabrera in the major leagues.
