Jeffrey Springs Builds Up To Three Innings
5 months agoTampa Bay Rays starting pitcher Jeffrey Springs (elbow) saw a mixed bag of results during Friday's rehab outing with Triple-A Durham. The left-hander allowed three runs on five hits over three innings of work. Springs was hit around more than expected but he also struck out five batters during this outing. He threw a total of 45 pitches in what was his longest rehab outing yet. It sounds like Springs is making progress, but there is still some more work to do before being activated. The southpaw is recovering from Tommy John surgery, so the Rays aren't going to rush anything with Springs.
