James Wood Returns From Seven-Day Injured List
5 months agoWashington Nationals outfield prospect James Wood (hamstring) was activated from the seven-day minor-league injured list on Tuesday and has returned to Triple-A Rochester. With fellow outfield prospect Dylan Crews being promoted from Double-A Harrisburg on Monday, Wood and Crews will return to the same outfield. Wood is Washington's top prospect and the No. 4 overall prospect in baseball, per MLB Pipeline, and the 21-year-old left-handed hitter has been one of the most productive hitters in the minors before his injury with a 1.061 OPS, nine home runs and 10 stolen bases in 45 games with the Red Wings. His injury set him back a bit, but as long as he stays healthy from here on out, his first big-league call-up should come sooner than later in 2024. With that said, Wood is an intriguing stash candidate, even in redraft leagues.
