5 months agoThe Toronto Blue Jays placed shortstop Bo Bichette (calf) on the 10-day injured list on Tuesday with a right-calf strain and recalled infield prospect Orelvis Martinez from Triple-A Buffalo in a corresponding move. Bichette has been sidelined with the injury since last Friday and will now miss additional time. It's unclear if he'll be able to return from the 10-day IL when he's eligible. Isiah Kiner-Falefa is starting again at the 6 on Tuesday and has been filling in at shortstop since Bichette's injury, but Martinez could also get some run at the position now that he's up in the big leagues. The 26-year-old Bichette has been one of the biggest disappointments for the Blue Jays in 2024. After making the All-Star team for the first time in his career last year, he's hitting .237 (61-for-257) with four homers and four stolen bases in 66 games.
