T.J. Edwards 2024 Outlook: A Reason to Wait at LB
6 months agoEdwards changed teams last offseason, but his production stayed alarmingly consistent. In his first year as a Bear, Edwards notched just four fewer total tackles and eight fewer solo tackles than he did the previous year in Philly. However, the former Eagle also increased his sack and turnover production enough to actually improve his overall fantasy production. In Standard IDP leagues, Edwards finished as LB4 in total fantasy points and fantasy points per game last year. This is par for the course for the Wisconsin product, who was fantasy's LB5 in 2022. While he is currently the seventh linebacker taken in redrafts, Edwards plays nearly every down and has shown he can routinely finish as a top five LB. In fact, he was just 13 fantasy points away from leading the LB position last year, which worked out to just 0.7 points per game in Standard Scoring. Edwards is a prime example of why managers in shallow IDP leagues can wait on LB. Why pay a premium to get the top linebacker off the board when the seventh LB off the board will score just 0.7 fewer points per game?
