Addison Barger Back With Big-League Club
6 months agoThe Toronto Blue Jays announced on Friday that they recalled outfield prospect Addison Barger from Triple-A Buffalo and designated first baseman/designated hitter Daniel Vogelbach for assignment in a corresponding move. The team's No. 6 prospect, per MLB Pipeline, Barger will make his return to the majors after going 1-for-8 with six strikeouts in five games in his first taste of major-league pitching earlier this year. The 24-year-old is not in Friday's starting lineup against the Cleveland Guardians, and there's no clear path to playing time for him right now, so fantasy managers in redraft leagues would be wise not to spend too much FAAB money to acquire him off the waiver wire. The former sixth-rounder in 2018 has hit .256 (46-for-180) with eight homers and 34 RBI in 50 games for Buffalo this year.
